In a brilliantly decorated school hall yesterday, the Nigerian president and aspirant for the PDP ticket announced a new book that he has just written a book to teach his wife, our dear first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan how to speak and read english. The book is modeled after the famous “Hooked on phonics” books that teaches youngsters the art of reading and speaking the Queen’s language. Presented to the public for the first time at the Eko Hotels and Suites, the book covers the basics of grammar, tense and pluralization. The launch was attended by the Nobel Prize winner Wole Soyinka.

Also present at the launch was the First Lady Dame Goodluck Jonathan who was apparently very glad and appreciative of her husband’s genius. “I am young, I need to learn. This is a good effort”, she said at the launch of the book. The attendants of the august occasion subsequently gave her a round of applause for this great achievement. “We can already see the effects of the book on her grasp of the English language”, an audience member said. “God bless our first lady.”
